How does the tutor consultation work?
The consultation is a 20-minute, parent-focused chat with one of our prep specialists. During the call, the specialist will review your student’s progress in the context of their goals and provide recommendations for a tutoring or class plan that would best fit their needs.
I have a fee waiver. Can I use it to get test prep materials?
Yes! You can use your ERB fee waiver to get free access to the Advanced package. Please visit this link to complete this process.
I’m an educator. Do you have any special deals for schools or tutoring companies?
Yes! Along with exclusive discounts for our educator partners, we offer intuitive educator tools to effectively manage multiple student accounts. Please contact us at sales@testinnovators.com for more details.
How do interactive diagnostics and score reports work?
As soon as your student completes a practice test, you’ll receive an immediate score report, including data on how your student’s scores compare to those of successful applicants to your target schools. The score report will include easy-to-understand charts and statistics about your student’s practice test results. See how well they performed on medium vs. hard questions, on arithmetic vs. geometry, and so on. If your student takes an online test, they will also receive immediate feedback about how long they spent on each question.
You can also revisit each individual test question to see what your student answered correctly or incorrectly. There are explanations for the correct solutions, along with links to related practice exercises.
How do I know which level of the test I should be taking?
The test levels depend on what grade your student is applying to.
- Students applying to 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade will take the Primary Level ISEE
- Students applying to 5th or 6th grade will take the Lower Level ISEE
- Students applying to 7th or 8th grade will take the Middle Level ISEE
- Students applying to 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade will take the Upper Level ISEE
The ISEE is scored based on the grade for which your student is applying, so your student's performance is only compared to other students applying to the same grade.
Can I use my account on multiple devices?
Yes, you can access your account from multiple devices, though we don’t recommend using two devices in the same account at the same time. Your device just needs an internet connection and an internet browser. Our platform works best on a desktop or tablet.
How is the test scored?
On the real ISEE, your student’s scores depend on how they perform in relation to other students applying to the same grade level. The Test Innovators platform also provides percentiles and stanines that are normed against your grade-level cohort.
I have twins/multiple children. Do I need separate accounts for them?
Yes, we recommend setting up separate accounts for each student. This will require a unique email for each account. Having different accounts will help to keep each student’s data individualized to them.
What are the Practice Exercises?
The practice exercises are additional multiple-choice questions designed to help your student improve any areas of weakness. They are similar to the test questions, and they are grouped by subject.
We recommend that students use the practice exercises in conjunction with the practice tests. Once your student has taken a practice test, or even just a section of a test, you can dive into their results—for each question, you'll see diagnostic statistics as well as a link to the relevant practice exercise bank.
What is the Video Course?
The Video Course is over 60 instructional videos that cover strategies for all sections of the test, as well as proctor videos that will help simulate the test-day experience. Most of the videos are 30 seconds to 3 minutes long.
